Description

Beautifully hand crafted by local sheep-shearer Dave Carlson, this Ring Distaff is an excellent accessory for any hand spinner, and is a true companion to Dave's Turkish Drop-Spindle.

This style of Distaff is designed to be worn around the pinky finger like a ring, with the fibre wrapped around the shaft. This allows for the fibre hand and arm to stay relaxed while drafting the fibre, and eases the tension often experienced while spinning.

Each Distaff is crafted one-of-a-kind from an array of different woods, and will vary from the one shown.

Each is approximately 7-8 inches/17-20cm long, with a ring diameter of 0.75 inches/2cm.

Hand-crafted in Alberta, Canada.

Sock Care

To keep your Custom Woolen Mills socks in tip-top condition, machine wash them gently and hang to dry to prevent shrinkage.

Proper fitting shoes have a huge impact on how your socks will wear. If you find you get holes in your socks quickly, you may want to assess how your shoes fit. In the meantime, we have a handy tutorial on how to darn socks.
