Description

We are pleased to offer a wide selection of rovings from different sheep breeds. Check back often for new breeds in stock. If you are looking for a specific breed and you don't see it, contact us to place an order - we are happy to keep an eye out for some of Canada's rare and unusual breeds.

Rovings (also called roping) are thick, continuous cords of carded wool for use in hand-spinning, hooking rugs and saddle pads, and felt making. They are approximately 3 inches in diameter.

Spinning Ilse de France roving. Like butter thro your fingers. It spins to a DK weight because the fibre is so excellent. A grey roving the same. Don't hesitate, if you are an experienced spinner, the specialty breed roving is a dream.

Sizing

Our sock sizes correspond to men's shoe sizes or are slightly smaller. If you like your socks loose, you may want to pick the next size up. Most men tend to fit into sizes 10-12 or 13-15. Most women tend to fit into sizes 4-6 or 7-9. If your foot size is right on the upper border of a size range, we would recommend getting the next size up. This makes them a bit more forgiving when it comes to washing.
