These blankets are beautifully handwoven with care at Edmonton based Traceable Textiles : a fibre collective dedicated to crafting exquisite textiles without sacrificing sustainable and ethical practices. As their name suggests, Traceable Textiles commits to recognizing and celebrating each process that occurs during the creation of a textile- from the many hands, hooves, and machines it must pass through before it is complete. Here at Custom Woolen Mills, we are proud to be a part of this process.

Each Blanket is spun exclusively from Alberta farmed wool, with each fleece carefully selected to provide durability, comfort, and warmth.  After the wool is processed into yarn here at Custom Woolen Mills, it is woven either in its natural sheep shade colour, or naturally dyed in-house at Traceable Textiles. Their dye studio boasts an array of rich natural colours, harvested locally from materials like Coreopsis, Marigolds, Tansy, Comfrey, and Indigo ethically sourced from Bangladesh. These blankets are designed and hand woven with outmost care, using traditional methods and looms.
