We're looking for someone to join our front-of-mill team to help us deliver amazing customer service to shoppers and visitors at the mill, prepare product for sale, prepare orders for mail out and pick-up, and assist us with answering the phone and emails.
About Custom Woolen Mills
Custom Woolen Mills is a small, family owned and operated woolen mill located between the towns of Carstairs and Linden. Using machinery from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, and fibre purchased direct from Western Canadian farmers, Custom Woolen Mills washes, cards, spins, knits, and quilts wool and exotic fibre products.

- Wool processing, from raw fibre to finished product
- Retail shop for purchasing of products produced in the mill
- Open to the public to tour through and learn about wool processing
Opportunity
We are seeking one full time employee to join our front-of-mill team in a customer service, sales clerk, order fulfillment, and shipping and receiving role, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Starting wage $16 - $20/hr depending on skills and experience level. Predominantly, responsibilities may involve but are not limited to assisting customers and visitors to the mill, taking payments, picking and packing orders for pick-up and mail-out, labeling finished product, stocking retail space, answering the phone and emails, assisting throughout the mill during low visitor season. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in textiles.

- Can take direction and be self motivated to complete tasks
- Has flexibility with changing work plans and directions
- Has good communication skills and is able to receive and give feedback
- Is physically fit and able to carry out tasks that involve bending, squatting, and lifting
