Every year I am amazed at how quickly the holiday season comes up. One moment we are in the midst of fall harvest, the next we are barrelling into winter and holiday festivities. This year it feels particularly surprising because the weather has been so erratic; snowy and cold, then warm and balmy, then plunging back into snowy and cold again, and so forth. But here we are planning our Christmas parties and holiday celebrations! With that in mind, there are a couple of events we would like to make you aware of.
First, we are looking forward to holding our annual Holiday Open House here at the mill on Saturday, December 8th, from 12pm to 4pm. We'll have a pot of hot apple cider steeping and cookies to enjoy. We hope you'll join us for the afternoon of wool crafts and mill tours. We'll also have the store open for those of you wishing to do a bit of holiday shopping or to stock up for your winter knitting projects.
Second, we will be joining the People of The Wild Mountain Artists Collective in Canmore on December 15th and 16th for their Winter Market. Held at the Canmore Miner's Union Hall, 738 7St Canmore, the market features the work of local artists and craftspeople. They have musicians playing all through the day and a couple of local chefs offering up some pretty delicious concession food. We'll be there with a selection of our Prairie Wool Socks, Naturally Dyed Yarns and Kits, and Ilya's Handwoven Blankets for sale. Come check it out if you are in the Bow-Valley area!
Lastly, we'd like to make you aware that the mill will be closing down for our yearly holiday starting on December 22nd. We'll re-open again in the New Year on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019!!
