Description

These "Prairie Skies" buttons are hand-crafted from Alberta clay by Calgary artists, Anders Bailey and Catherine Dale, of the Vitri5 Craft Collective and Muddy Otter's Pottery. Anders hand scupted each button and then Catherine glazed, fired, and hand-sanded them to completion; developing the unique blue-green glaze from local materials. A true piece of art to complement any garment.

There are two different patterns available. They are a two-hole button with an approximate diameter of 3.5cm.

Our Prairie Wool Sock Guide

When choosing socks, the Original Wool Socks are the warmest, the White Wool Mohair Socks are the softest, and the Hard Workin' Wool/Nylon Socks are the most durable.

Sizing

Our sock sizes correspond to men's shoe sizes or are slightly smaller. If you like your socks loose, you may want to pick the next size up. Most men tend to fit into sizes 10-12 or 13-15. Most women tend to fit into sizes 4-6 or 7-9. If your foot size is right on the upper border of a size range, we would recommend getting the next size up. This makes them a bit more forgiving when it comes to washing.

Sock Care

To keep your Custom Woolen Mills socks in tip-top condition, machine wash them gently and hang to dry to prevent shrinkage.

Proper fitting shoes have a huge impact on how your socks will wear. If you find you get holes in your socks quickly, you may want to assess how your shoes fit. In the meantime, we have a handy tutorial on how to darn socks.
